finally, the finished product... i made a few adjustments on this one... the shadow was off the 2nd time i've submitted it to my excitement... im a bit careless coz the bars were the last additions to this painting, i moved the shadow behind the bars but before the shadow bars and throw an overlay blending for the bars to blend it in the background... nice huh...
(arrg i uploaded the wrong file the first time) i spent almost 15 hours straight trying to finish my first digital art using the intuos 3 my husband gave me this Christmas... yeepee...
i'm still waiting for the airbrush and the art pen to go with it... about this artwork: the background in an old paper texture i got for free in the internet, the reference photo can be found at tomwelling.com... i used a grip pen for this, mastering channels is one of the first lessons i learned so i applied it here using flats, a lot of smudging, burning and dodging... its fun... i textured the pants using one of the custom brushes availabe at photoshop CS2 and literally draw all the strands of the hair in the head, the beard and the hands... alternating colors and saturation alot of layers and blendings...
i've never said that about a drawing.
